McNair Program Objectives

The purpose of the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program is to prepare students for:

  • Research and scholarly activities during their academic years of participation
  • Entry into a graduate program by the fall term of the academic year immediately following their completion of the bachelor’s degree
  • Continuing their graduate education beyond the first year of enrollment
  • Attaining a doctoral degree (Ph.D.)

Personal Statement

We would like to learn a little more about you, your interest in McNair, and your aspirations. In no more than 300 words, please respond to the following prompts:

  • How has your personal background and educational path led you to pursue participation in the McNair Program?
